OUR BREEDS
AGB Inc. represents four breeds - the established miniature breeds - Australian Miniature, Nigerian Dwarf and Pygmy goat. Along with the Mini Nubian, a mid-size dairy breed in development in Australia.

NIGERIAN DWARF GOAT
A miniature dairy goat originating from West Africa and developed in the United States. Nigerian Dwarf genetics were first imported to Australia in 2014, with purebred animals on the ground that same year.
Incredibly popular, thousands of appendix and purebred animals are now registered across the country attracting both minature and long-time dairy goat breeders alike. This elegant breed is fast emerging as one of the favourites in the show ring.

PYGMY GOAT
The Pygmy is a most distinctive breed - a stocky, wide, heavy boned and well-muscled little goat unlike any other here in Australia. Originally a meat goat originating in West Africa and developed in America, with semen imported to Australia in 2013.
While the genetics have been in country for almost 10 years, it is only quite recently that embryos have produced DNA verified purebred progeny - setting this breed on a major growth trajectory.

AUSTRALIAN MINIATURE
The Australian Miniature goat breed was first developed over 20 years ago by a group of goat enthusiasts who crossed Aussie rangeland goats with other breeds to create a balanced, small goat breed.
The animals have been graded-up based on their adult height, and over the past 5 years or so breeders have been delivering amazing, true to type, consistent, miniature animals. This breed is moving into the mature phase now with our breeders mainly producing purebred stock.

MINI NUBIAN
The Mini Nubian breed is a mid-size dairy breed developed crossing Anglo Nubian goats with a miniature breed such as Nigerian Dwarf or Aus Mini.
The challenge is to retain the very distinctive head, ear and body breed character of the Nubian, while delivering this all in a smaller package.
There are a number of similar breeds in Australia, including the 'Nuwby', which we recognise as foundation animals in the Mini Nubian breed.
